Happy 2012! Though my New Year’s Eve plans were very low-key this year, I am excited about it being the start of a new year. Every January 1st feels almost like a fresh start, like a clean journal or empty memory card to fill up with new stories and photos. It’s an awesome feeling.

Instead of making a “new year’s resolution” (because I think our brains are trained to freak out when we hear those words), I have set goals for this year. Most of them are in the “12 in 2012” post I did a couple of months ago. My top goal for the year is finding a job and moving somewhere (outside of Mississippi). I’ve decided it doesn’t have to be Tennessee (though that is my top choice) and that it doesn’t have to be somewhere that I already know someone living there. I am pretty much open to anywhere, as long as the job itself is fulfilling and, well… awesome. I am putting more focus on finding the great job that will let me stretch my creative brain and really let me grow and learn as a front-end developer. I would even consider NYC (which scares me, I don’t do well in large crowds, though I’m sure it’d be lovely to live there) and other large cities.

I am really looking forward to this year in hopes of big changes. Lord knows I am in desperate need of a change. Especially since I found out one of my best friends still living in Jackson will also be leaving this year, sometime in the summer. Jackson has been overall great, but it’s time for me to move on.

I hope you had a great (and safe) New Year’s Eve and I hope you have a great year and accomplish every goal you set out for yourself in 2012!
